BRUINS SENIOR REPRESENTATIVE PROGRAM INFORMATION

The Bankstown Basketball Association Senior & Junior Bruins Representative programs have a long and distinguished record throughout NSW and Australia, and we pride ourselves on the conduct of the Bruins Representative Program and the results that we have achieved over many years.

The Association is once again looking to enter our teams in the NSW Waratah Senior Competitions, where possible [dependant upon players numbers and coaching resources] Championship Division Men & Women, Youth League Men & Women, State League Men together with entering teams in the NSW Waratah Junior Metro League Boys & Girls U/12, U/14, U/16 and U/18 age groups.

The Association has a huge financial commitment to the Representative Program and are one of the few Associations that cover the majority of their teams costs. So that all senior players are aware of their commitments, we have included these details so you are aware of what is expected of you in regard to fees, trainings & game day.

In the majority of cases we will relay any information through your Manager who is in charge of the teams arrangements.

The Association pays:

  • Entry Fees
  • Referees Fees
  • Referees Evaluators fees
  • Bench / Stats Fees
  • Playing Uniform Championship Teams
  • Playing Tops for Youth & State League Teams
  • Court hire for training
  • Pre Season Entry Fee

You will pay:

  • Levies
  • Away accommodation - if required
  • Tracksuit if required
  • Youth & State League players buy & keep their shorts & Warm up Tops

Included in your levy is a ticket to the Senior Awards Dinner & a Bruins Reversible

 

How Do I Try Out for Reps ?

Trial dates for all age groups and application forms can be found on this website and in the information stand at Bankstown Basketball Stadium.

Trials are open to all players. Players wishing to trial are asked to submit an application forms.

Selection trials are held at Bankstown Basketball Stadium and a squad of players will be chosen, from which the final team will be named prior to Christmas.

 

Player Requirements:

All players are required to attend all training sessions which are twice per week. Each training session is 2 hours in duration held on a Tuesday and Thursday at Bankstown Stadium with times depending on court availability. Abide by the Players Code of Conduct and attend the Senior Representative Dinner.

 

Game Days:

Waratah Senior League games can be played on a Saturdays and Sundays with the season commencing in March and concludes in September. Home games are played at the Bankstown Basketball Stadium, however away games will involve travel to any of the competing Associations venues.

 

Representative Committee

The Bruins Representative Committee [chaired by a member of the Board of Management] is responsible for the overall conduct of the Association’s Representative Program.


The Committee meets on a regular basis and drafts policy matters for the Board of Managements approval, and initiates fundraising activities, recommends the extent of financial assistance available to teams and individuals, and provided ongoing assistance and educational opportunities to the many volunteers involved in coaching and management roles.

 

Registration:

All players MUST be registered with Bankstown Basketball Association and Basketball New South Wales.

 

Individual Team Sponsorship:

Any Individual player or team sponsorship must go through the General Manager for approval before you can go ahead with any arrangements.

 

Fundraising:

All fundraising must also be kept in the teams fundraising account with the Association. All money raised from fundraising is to offset the cost on players, for the current representative season only.
